Welcome!
In January 2022, I launched a podcast! ”Pressing In” is a safe place to press into the Word and the heart of God and seek a glimpse of His perspective. We’re going to do things a little bit differently on this show, and I think you’re going to love it.
One of the questions that people ask me is “HOW do you get so much out of the Bible?” (I have been known to teach for 45 minutes on one verse.) There is a lot to be found in the scriptures if we are willing to seek it out. Proverbs 25:2 says, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, and the glory of man to search it out.” There is so much truth and insight concealed in the pages of the Bible, and we are going to seek it out together.
Several years ago, I felt the Lord leading me to spend time in Psalm 23. Like a loooong time in the psalm. I read it over and over again for several weeks. I looked up the keywords in the original language to see how the meaning and usage might be different or insightful.
Then one morning, a whisper of a thought came into my mind. I’ve come to know this as the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit. The whisper said, “Let me read it to you.”
Yeah, that’s a little weird. I thought so too at first. But I tried it. God began filling my mind with the words from His perspective as my eyes followed along the lines of the psalm. This was so profound to me… that it ended up being the basis for my first book, which is a 30-day devotional that walks through the 23rd psalm one phrase at a time.
Each episode of "Pressing In" will feature a passage of scripture and we will lean in to hear God's perspective together. How does that sound?
